Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?) My husband has pityriasis capitis simplex, (a fancy term for waxy/oily dandruff). Over the years he has tried many dandruff shampoos, but I think a lot of them are geared toward dry dandruff and they just haven't worked well. He has had especially poor luck with the natural dandruff shampoos.
He has been using this shampoo for about ten days now, and so far so good. I have been checking for flakes and have not seen any at all. He also has periodic problems with rosacea on his face, and this shampoo seems to calm that as well. He always washes his face with the same thing he uses on his hair. Fortunately, this seems to work for both issues. The nice thing about this shampoo is that I could not find coal tar on the ingredients list (something he likes to avoid). The active ingredient in this product is a type of zinc, which is definitely doable.
This came to us as a free product in exchange for an honest review. But it works very well and the price is great, so when this runs out we will definitely buy more. If I find at any point it no longer works for him, I will amend my review.
2/24/14, One Year Later: Was just going through my reviews and wanted to update this. I has been a little over a year now and my husband is still using this same shampoo. He doesn't have a lot of hair, and this goes a long way, so I think we've only had to buy about three bottles since the first one. It still works great, and it's so nice to have a reliable shampoo for him!
