Peppermint 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil- 10 ml
CUSTOMER REVIEW
After experimenting with every essential and carrier oils out there, I've decided I'm absolutely in love with essential oils and a few have become a staple in my daily hair care regime. For me, it's important to apply essential oils to my hair due to the effects of chemicals used in my hair dyes (mainly bleach) and an allergic reaction to Brazilian Blowout. As a result, my scalp has become very sensitive. Using essential oils can help calm the skin down and make hair look healthy again. Your hair will benefit from a treatment with any essential oils even if there are no significant hair or scalp issues to cure. The best essential oils for hair can be used as often as needed and are easy and relatively cheap to purchase, unlike many chemical hair treatment products. Here are the essential oils I use to treat several of my current hair problems: (1) Peppermint Essential Oil, (2) Rosemary Essential Oil and (3) Lavender Essential Oil.
Peppermint Essential Oil helps to stimulate blood flow to the root of the hair. This helps the hair to receive proper nourishment and to grow correctly. Peppermint makes the scalp tingle and this is what stimulates the blood flow to the hair (On the skin and scalp, peppermint oil is used to relieve skin irritation and itchiness and also helps to reduce skin redness, where inflammation is present. It is used for dermatitis, acne, and also relieves itching, sunburn and inflammation of the skin, while at the same time having a cooling action.) I am addicted to the tingling feeling on my scalp!! Here is a little more detail about this particular EO's benefits:
Oily Scalp
Although peppermint oil has a cooling, tingling effect when massaged onto the scalp, rest assured the oil is hard at work balancing the PH levels of your scalp to help put a stop to oily hair. Peppermint oil is actually an astringent which normalizes your scalp's oil production. An oily scalp produces excess oil which is then distributed throughout the hair; that creates greasy, oiled hair. Peppermint oil eliminates this problem and makes the appearance of greasy, flat hair a thing of the past.
Dry Scalp
Because of its PH balancing qualities, peppermint oil can also be used to treat the opposite problem: dry scalp and dandruff. And since the oil will be neutralizing the dryness on the scalp itself, it will take away any itching sensation associated with this social nightmare.
Moisturize
Peppermint oil is routinely paired with carrier oils such as almond, castor or olive oil. You will also find peppermint oil paired with other essential oils such as lavender, jasmine or wheat germ oil. Regardless of its companion, peppermint oil is frequently used as a moisturizer for the hair shaft. All you have to do is distribute a generous amount evenly throughout your hair. Wrap hair up in a shower cap or thin towel. Place a heated towel on top. Let the heat from the outer towel penetrate through your hair for twenty to thirty minutes. You may then reap the benefits of moisture rich hair.
Hair Growth
The tingling sensation mentioned above not only evens the playing field of the PH balance of your scalp, but it also stimulates your hair follicles and promotes hair growth.
I have done tons of research on which brand of essential oils is the best on the market (or for me the most pure, undiluted and organic). I took a chance and tried this brand after unsatisfactory results from other brands Amazon sells. I was pleasantly surprised. I am anxious to try this company's other essential oils but so far their peppermint oil is my favorite thus far. Will reorder again and delivery was fast.
